Alltru Breaks Ground on New Branch in Florissant

ST. LOUIS (June 7, 2024) – Alltru Credit Union, a leading Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) in the Greater St. Louis area, is proud to break ground in Florissant, MO for their fifth branch location.

As part of a larger growth strategy, Alltru Credit Union aims to more conveniently serve current members in North County, St. Louis as well as reach new markets in the surrounding area. As one of only 500 CDFI credit unions in the United States, Alltru’s primary mission is to provide accessible personal banking and lending products to underserved individuals, regardless of their credit histories.

“Over 55 years ago, District 837 Credit Union, now known as Alltru, was created in a union hall in North County St. Louis from the idea we can accomplish great things by working together and trusting each other” said Tracy Verner, Community Development Manager at Alltru Credit Union. She went on to say, “As a not-for-profit cooperative, we want our members to not just know the difference but feel the difference as they work with us. Our structure lets our members experience great service every time they interact with us because they know that we care. We want them to be successful, and we want them to accomplish great things too.”

At the groundbreaking, President of the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce Jaime Jenkins, La Macchia Group employees, and other distinguished guests were in attendance. During the ceremony, CEO Michelle Rosner and Gina Hakenewerth, Chairwoman of Alltru Credit Union’s Board of Directors, remarked on their excitement for Alltru Credit Union’s new branch.

In an announcement, Alltru Credit Union’s CEO Michelle Rosner said, “We are so excited to break ground on our fifth branch. This branch represents so many years in the making. By opening this location in Florissant, we are better able to serve our current and future members in this community by providing exceptional service when they need it the most. Our members know that we put them first, and we look forward to serving our Florissant members and being good partners to this community.”

The branch is set to open in early 2025 at 3240 North Highway 67 near Cross Keys.  La Macchia Group, a Milwaukee-headquartered firm that specializes in financial institutions, created the branch design and will manage the construction. Local Union contractors will be used for construction.
