Alltru Credit Union proudly holds the certification of being a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). This underscores our commitment to assisting individuals in realizing their financial aspirations by offering accessible financial tools to the communities of St. Louis that we proudly serve. Our approach to this mission encompasses various strategies:

Community Development
Through partnerships with local small businesses, we provide employees with financial wellness tools and resources that support their personal and financial success. These programs equip them with the tools and services necessary to manage their finances effectively, empowering them to contribute to the well-being of their families and communities.
Employees of local business were able to borrow Salary Advance Loans to avoid alternative predatory loans.

College Kids Program
This program is shifting the conversation of higher education all over the city of St. Louis. We are so proud to support this program and the families served by the College Kids office.
Since 2014, Alltru has opened over 25,500 savings accounts for incoming Kindergarteners in the City of St. Louis in partnership with the College Kids Program.
Access.
Many neighborhoods in the St. Louis area still lack easy access to banks or credit unions. At Alltru Credit Union, we’re working to change that. By partnering with local nonprofits. community programs, and local small businesses, we’re bringing essential financial services to the places that need them most.
As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), we’re committed to breaking down the barriers that keep people from reaching financial stability. Whether it’s in St. Louis City, St. Louis County, or St. Charles County, we believe everyone deserves a safe, affordable way to manage their money, regardless of income or background.
Through our efforts, we’re building stronger financial foundations and opening the door to brighter futures across our region.
2025 Low-Income Products Deployed
Furthermore, in 2025 alone, we extended $36,091,846 in loans to individuals with credit scores of 659 and lower, amplifying our impact on the community.
Service.
Volunteering.
Every Alltru employee is granted 8 hours per month of paid volunteer time, empowering us to actively contribute to our communities by volunteering with local nonprofits. While we provide small-dollar grants and support our partners through programming, we also believe in being hands-on. We encourage all our employees to participate in the cooperative’s success and contribute to their community’s well-being.

In 2025, Alltru employees spent 530 hours volunteering at local nonprofits and serving our community.
We don’t do this work because it’s the most profitable, we do it because it’s the right thing to do. It’s about putting our time and energy where it truly matters.
