Karen Neel has served the St. Louis community through her credit union involvement for almost 40 years.  In 1984, Karen began serving the community with Victory Credit Union. When Victory merged with Aerospace Credit Union, Karen became a Branch Manager, and today she is the Member Experience Manager at the Washington Avenue location for what is now Alltru Credit Union.

With her support, Alltru Credit Union, in partnership with the City of St. Louis, has opened over 24,000 College Kids Savings Accounts, helping the students of the St. Louis Public and Charter School District save and earn more than $2,000,000 for higher education. Karen was also pivotal in the development of financial capabilities for the STL Youth Jobs program for young people between the ages of 16-25 to give them an opportunity to learn and practice managing their money with a checking and savings account at Alltru.

“Karen has humbly served the St. Louis community for almost 40 years where she has excelled in building relationships and helping members achieve their financial dreams.  She has worked very closely with our youth programs to help educate and guide the kids and young adults to achieve financial success.  She has been a wealth of knowledge and resource for her team and other managers, and we are extremely lucky to have her on our team,” said Renee Markert, Director of Retail Services at Alltru Credit Union.

Karen’s big heart and commitment to the St. Louis community has allowed her to get to know the people that come to the credit union for their financial needs, many of whom she has known for years and considers them as family. As a Member Experience Manager, she enjoys building relationships with her employees and helping them develop and grow to serve the members and community.

Even with all the amazing impact through her role at the credit union, Karen is most passionate about her family. Her husband, children and grandchildren are the loves of her life and her most favorite thing to brag about. Through Karen’s love and commitment to service, she has helped many in the St. Louis area achieve their financial dreams.
